The Universal Pivot Binding functions much like the standard Universal Binding. The main difference is the flexplate has a hinge built in (hence the pivot name) just behind the ball of the foot. Performance is better for touring then the standard, the pivot also has the ability to adjust out longer for larger boots. We have been able to fit up to a size 15 boot with it – depending on your boot design of course. if you measure your boot in a straight line toe to heel the pivot will fit up to 14.5 inches in length.

Since the pivot point is still at what we call a nordic pivot – behind the ball of the foot – we still recommend this for only flexible soled boots.
